About

Hi and welcome to my site. As you’ve probably guessed my name is Jack Tomalin – I’m a 3D artist and digital content creator.

I’m currently working with DAZ3D to provide high quality digital content for use in Poser/DAZ Studio – and have been doing so for the last 7-odd years.  Initially as a 3D modeller for House on the Hill, then Redhouse Studios and now solo under my own name. As a one-man band you are responsible for literally everything, from the initial idea, execution and product delivery. You’ll find the majority of my work for sale over in my DAZ3D store.

In addition to brokering my content as a regular artist at DAZ, I am also part of the Platinum Club’s development team. For the uninitiated, the Platinum Club is a exclusive section of DAZ which provide high quality content at a fraction of the cost.

In addition to all that I’ve recently started selling content directly from this site too, so have a look here for those items. The content is quite limited at the moment but it will be expanding over the coming months.

I specialise in architectural and environment pieces but have been known to do the odd car/spaceship/mech or pretty much anything else that’s requested. In my time developing projects I’ve covered pretty much most genres, Ancient Egyptian, Roman, Gothic, Victorian, Modern, Sci-fi, Fantasy.. you get the idea. While I freely admit I’m not a historian I do try to inject as much realism as I can into each project and subscribe to the philosophy that the devil is in the detail.

It’s been said many a time that I’m a ‘Jack of all trades’. On top of my artistic duties, I do a little coding (both web and software design), a bit of painting, a bit of photography.. a bit of everything really. I do know my limits though, and like to leave things to the professionals when possible.

I’m also co-founder of the rather lovely Cornish Knocker Company which is a little arty CountryUrbanRetroLowbrowSeaside with a little bit of SandBanksy thrown in kinda thing. It’s not as rude as it sounds! Go and have a look for yourself and you’ll see what all the fuss is about!  My duties there (as well chief tea-maker) is to turn Captain Scruffs 2d wonderment into 3d loveliness.  It’s a nice escape from the never ending pursuit of realism I have in my day-job.

From a technical aspect, applications of choice include Lightwave 3D, Pixologic Zbrush, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I’ve even been known to knock up some PHP/Visual C# to help get things done that bit quicker too.

If not on here, you’ll find me at few other sites around the Internet, for details of those please check out the Links section.

Enjoy the site, if you have any questions or comments don’t hesitate to email me.
